Passion or Money ?

Let me start by asking you a question.

How do you define Passion and Money in your life?

You see

Growing up, we have to make a lot of decisions.

Some of the decisions we made, it will greatly impact how our life will be in our future

and how far we can go.

One of these decisions would be choosing our own ambitions.

Deciding who we want to be is a bifurcation lane that makes us very hard to decide between prioritizing money and passion.

The decision between choosing Passion and Money has become one of the debated topics over the years.

As we all know that,

Money is essential to sustain our life quality.

Passion is a strong desire that you can do your favourite things.

Both are vitally important in our life and that is why we put ourselves in a dilemma.

I struggled in this dilemma before.

During the time when I was in my secondary school, I found myself was interested in Biology and Chemistry subjects.

Later then, I aspired to become a pharmacist.

Everyday, I woke up, I felt massive motivation in my life when I envisioned myself as a medical expert.

However, Guess what?

I ended up not becoming a pharmacist.

Yes, I give up.

Why？？

The reason behind this is I have to accept the reality that being a pharmacist, I might not earn very much.

When the money and passion came across my mind,

I relentlessly picked up the money and left my passion behind.

I compromised to the reality.

Today, I felt a bit regret about not insisting to become a pharmacist. I was naïve at that time without knowing that life is abundance, without knowing that there is still a bright prospect by being a pharmacist.

SO，

For everyone of you who are listening to me right now,

I want you to ask yourself...

Have you ever given up your passion and pick the money when it comes to your career decision?

Anyway, this dilemma should meet an end.

Now, if you ask me, I would prioritise passion over everything.

Thanks to the blooming of technology, it has opened up a lot of opportunities for us to chase our passion.

Back then we might find it difficult to chase our passion and at the same time having a great opportunities.

Your parents may discourage not to learn art stream subjects,

because they thought that art related job wasn't in demand.

Back to now, we have less worries about that.

Usually, we can monetize $$$ our passion using online resources.

We are no longer being restricted to do something we like as our main career.

However,

it is still not easy for us to chase our passion and at the same time earn a decent income.

If you want to be able to achieve that, you must excel in what you do.

A speech from Angela Lee Duckworth in Ted talk,

has shared that grit is the key that leads us to success. And it comprises of

passion and perseverance.

Did you notice that?

Passion comes first.

Passion is the energy that drives us forward.

Passion is doing something for 4 hours without sipping a cup of tea.

Passion is what makes you to be consistent in learning something.

And I believe with passion,

we can do well in our dream career and earn a satisfying income.

In this technology era, we are spoilt of choices. Whatever we doing right now, we tend to give up easily before getting any result.

Could you realise that?

Choosing passion has become increasingly important.

Passion ignites the flame of hunger within us.

Passion is where our time flows.

When our time flows,

our energy flows.

When energy flows,

the result shows.

This inspiring quote was said by Dan Lok

who is one of the famous and successful American entrepreneurs.

Life is a long run.

We always hear successful people say that we must have self-discipline.

For me,

That’s undoubtedly true.

However,

as human endowment,

we have to admit that

you and I are passion driven.

Whatever we are doing right now is to ensure we have the freedom to what we like in the future.

Doing something with passion empowers us to endure the consistency of boredom. Remember,

passion is what that can make you truly be yourself.

Never let the uncertainties hinder you from chasing your passion.

because of passion,

we are here to discover ourselves.

We are here is because we are passionate in becoming the better version of ourselves!
